Hi there! My name is Mrs. Lana and I teach math! My goal in math tutoring is to help students have breakthroughs in learning and help them to enjoy tutoring through learning while having fun with some math games and "tricks" to help with mental math. Who really likes to go to math tutoring??? So, I like to make it more fun and that goes a long way in helping a student to learn! My teaching style is having students learn by the “teach one, see one, do one” method. I present a new concept by demonstrating the math problem, then the student and I will talk through the steps as we work another problem together, then they will do similar problems on their own. I have seen a lot of success with this teaching method. Fun facts about me...a few of my personal interests are playing all kinds of games, including video games with my son, sewing interesting items, and hosting tea parties. My favorite Star Wars character is R2! I hope to see your student in one of my classes soon! :-)
