Hello! I’m Laura, and I’ve spent over 18 years helping middle and high school students build confidence in English Language Arts. Whether you’re writing an essay, preparing for a test, completing a research project, or improving your reading and writing skills, I’m here to help. Many students don’t struggle because they can’t do the work—they struggle because they don’t know where to begin. Together, we’ll break assignments into manageable steps, organize your thinking, and use engaging strategies that make learning feel less overwhelming. My goal is to help you build confidence, strengthen your skills, and leave each session feeling successful and ready for the next challenge.
Teacher Specialization
I have over 18 years of experience teaching English Language Arts to students ranging from middle school through college. My experience includes teaching seventh-grade ELA, honors English, English Learner (EL) courses, public speaking, research and writing, and college composition. I also served as an Assistant Professor at California Baptist University, where I taught college-level writing and research courses. I hold a Master’s degree in Education with an emphasis in Instructional Technology, allowing me to integrate effective digital tools and learning platforms into instruction when appropriate. Whether students need support with reading comprehension, essay writing, research projects, grammar, test preparation, presentations, or organization, I provide structured, individualized instruction that builds both skills and confidence. My experience working with diverse learners—from newcomers learning English to college-level students—allows me to adapt and help all students.
