Bio
My name is Lauren Grier! I began my career in education in Japan, where I lived for five years! While there, I developed my teaching philosophy, which is that every child can learn and succeed, no matter their background or starting point. My goal is to create a safe, supportive space where students feel encouraged to ask questions and celebrate progress! I believe learning should be fun and engaging with games, hands-on activities, and real-world connections that help concepts click. I believe in building positive, meaningful relationships which starts with getting to know each student, their interests, strengths, and goals, so that they feel valued and understood. I create a supportive and inclusive environment by fostering respect, celebrating differences, and ensuring every student feels safe, encouraged, and confident!
Teacher Specialization
I’ve been in education for six years and hold a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education (K–5) and a Master’s in Education Technology and Instructional Design (K-12 and adult education). My journey started as a volunteer, and I quickly fell in love with helping students learn and grow. Since then, I’ve worked as a substitute teacher, SPED aide, kindergarten para, and daycare lead teacher before becoming a classroom teacher. I have experience with all grades and ages from infant to 12th grade! Each experience has deepened my love for teaching and helping students discover what they’re capable of. I specialize in using creative, tech-enhanced lessons to help students master reading, writing, and math skills while keeping learning fun and engaging.
