Bio
Hello! With nearly 20 years of teaching experience, I am passionate about inspiring a love of learning in every student. As a student of life, I believe education is a shared journey—one where I often learn just as much from my students as they learn from me! When working with students, my approach is flexible, open-minded and student-centered. I specialize in supporting diverse learners and those with special needs. I meet students where they are academically and help them connect to the content so it feels personally relevant. I adapt instruction to make complex topics more accessible, engaging, and meaningful. I strive to build confidence, encourage creativity, and create a space where every student feels seen, valued, and capable of success—because every student truly matters.
Teacher Specialization
I bring nearly 20 years of teaching experience across both traditional and virtual settings, with the past 13 years focused on online instruction. I have a strong background in middle school ELA, including 10 years teaching 8th grade and 2 years in 6th grade. I also have experience teaching high school Speech & Drama, as well as coaching Track & Cross Country. In 2020, I earned my Special Education certification, expanding my ability to support students with diverse learning needs. Over the past five years, I served in several virtual Special Education teaching positions. These include K–5 self-contained, middle school Math Inclusion, middle school ELA Inclusion, and a variety of resource and support roles. I hold a Master of Arts in Teaching and bachelor’s degrees in English and Music Performance. With this unique background, creative teaching comes naturally to me!
