Bio
Hi there, I'm Lindsey DesRochers (or Mrs. D). I’m an experienced educator and instructional leader with a background spanning K–12, higher education, and online learning environments for the past 15+ years. I hold a strong belief that every student can succeed with the right support, and my teaching philosophy centers on personalized learning, building confidence, and making content relevant and engaging. Throughout my career, I’ve designed and led academic programs, supported diverse learners, and collaborated closely with families and educators to drive meaningful outcomes. I bring a patient, encouraging, and structured approach to tutoring, helping students not only master content but also develop the skills and independence they need for long-term success.
Teacher Specialization
I earned my B.S. in Secondary Education and History at Indiana University (Go Hoosiers!) My experience in teaching includes 6th-12th grade for 6 years in public schools as well as 10 years experience teaching online Social Science/History including AP U.S. History (I have attended an AP Summer Institute), American History, Geography, Psychology, Sociology, U.S. Government, World Civilizations, World History. I also have experience in Higher Ed career services for graduates entering the workforce. In addition, I have experience teaching and tutoring K-12 in ELA, English and writing, study and test prep skills, executive functioning, Foundational Math.
