Bio
I believe every student has the ability to learn, thrive, and grow when given the right support and encouragement. My philosophy centers on creating a safe, engaging, and student-centered learning environment where curiosity is celebrated, mistakes are viewed as opportunities, and confidence is built step by step. My goal as a tutor is not only to help students master content but also to empower them with the skills and mindset needed to become independent, lifelong learners. I aim to foster critical thinking, problem-solving, and self-advocacy so students can succeed academically and beyond the classroom. Relationships are at the heart of my approach. I make it a priority to connect with each student as an individual—understanding their strengths, interests, and challenges—so that learning feels both personal and meaningful. By building trust and mutual respect, I help students feel comfortable taking risks, asking questions, and pushing themselves toward their full potential.
Teacher Specialization
With 16 years of teaching experience, I bring expertise in English, AVID, Special Education, and College & Career Prep. I hold a B.A. in Education: Multidisciplinary Studies, an M.A. in Special Education, and an M.A. in Educational Leadership. A former Golden Apple Teacher of Distinction, I specialize in building strong, trust-based relationships with students where fear of mistakes disappears and confidence grows. I meet learners exactly where they are and guide them step by step to reach their goals. My approach blends patience, encouragement, and proven strategies to ensure every student not only learns, but thrives.
