Bio
I am a passionate educator that loves to make learning engaging for students. I make it my priority to connect with each student I teach, as the teacher and student connection is a huge factor in student learning. I create a welcoming and encouraging environment for students so they feel comfortable to ask questions. I believe in making students feels safe so that they are not afraid to make mistakes, but they learn to grow through it. I am passionate about building student confidence and empowering them to succeed in their learning. I believe that a growth mindset is powerful. We can all do hard things, and we learn through being challenged. Students experience that learning is both fun and productive when they work with me!
Teacher Specialization
I have a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and a Master's of Education in Curriculum and Instruction. I have worked for the past 12 years with students in grades 3-6 in different education settings. I taught in various public schools and private schools. I started my career working as a Grade 3 and 4 teacher, focusing on all elementary subjects. Later, I began working as an ESOL teacher (English as a second language), and focused mainly on math and reading. I also worked as a math focus teacher, which included pulling out students in small groups to focus on math interventions. I have done tutoring over the years in small group settings and in one on one settings, focusing on math, reading, and writing support.
