Bio

I have a passion for learning, and it is my hope that I can light the same fire in my students -- or at least bring a smile to their faces during our sessions. I love working with students to help them master material and reach their academic goals. I understand the importance of keeping students engaged through conversation, interesting material, and personal connections, and I strive to understand the needs of my students in order to design sessions to fit their abilties and personalities. I have a great sense of humor and an enormous amount of patience (both necessary as a mom of three boys!). It is truly a privilege to work with young people, to make a difference in their lives.
Teacher Specialization
I have a B.A. in English and an M.Ed. in English Education from the University of Florida and am a certified English 6-12 teacher with a Reading Endorsement and ESOL Endorsement from the State of Florida. I have been teaching in the Central Florida schools for the past 30 years. I have taught language arts at the middle, high school and junior college levels, and am experienced with test preparation courses for the ACT, SAT, GED and other standardized tests.
