Bio
Hello! My name is Mrs. Gonzalez, and I love helping students discover that they really can succeed in math. Whether a student needs to catch up, build confidence, or be challenged, I enjoy meeting them where they are and helping them take the next step. I have over 8 years of experience teaching and tutoring math in both online and classroom settings. My goal is to create a patient, encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and celebrating their progress. Most importantly, I want students to leave our session with a smile on their face and a little more confidence in their math abilities than when they arrived.
Teacher Specialization
I specialize in middle school and high school mathematics, including Pre-Algebra, Algebra I, Geometry, and foundational math skills. I enjoy helping students who feel stuck, have gaps in their understanding, or simply need concepts explained in a different way. I believe effective tutoring begins by identifying where a student is struggling and building from there. I am currently expanding my professional learning in learning differences, with a particular interest in dyslexia, dyscalculia, ADHD, and multi-sensory math instruction. My goal is to provide individualized strategies that help students gain confidence, develop independence, and experience success in math. I hold a Master's degree in Secondary Mathematics Education and a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering. I am an Arizona-certified secondary math teacher and have taught students from middle school through high school.
