Bio
Hello! My name is Maralee Elliott. I am a very experienced, award winning teacher. I love to help all students achieve their goals. I believe that students learn best if they are engaged. I use a variety of instructional strategies to be sure students are involved and interested. Evaluation is just a measure to ensure understanding. It is a tool to drive the upcoming instruction. I think that all students can learn difficult concepts, but we need to teach them in an enjoyable way. When I am tutoring, my goal is to help students achieve their goals. Critical thinking and creativity are important parts of any learning process. Students can achieve academic excellence when they are relaxed and have an engaging way to process the information.
Teacher Specialization
I have taught both in-person and online classes. I have 3 adult children and 4 grandchildren, so I definitely know how to make learning fun! I have a B.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies and a Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction. I teach all grade levels, but I specialize in K-3. I have been a Language Arts instructional coach as well as a mentor teacher, and I was teacher of the year for my school in 2024.
