Bio
My name is Mari Zayas and I have been an educator for 19 years. I believe that successful tutoring requires clear goals, trust, and working together. My tutoring sessions focus on setting a SMART goal - Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound. Working together this way, we establish clear goals, build confidence and create lifelong foundational skills. I live in Miami with my husband and 3 sons and also work as a cantor at our church. Since beginning to home school our older sons, I have seen how kids who receive that one-on-one attention really grow not only academically, but socially. It has helped me to realize that, with education, one size does not fit all.
Teacher Specialization
I have a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Music Education (K-12) and began as an elementary music teacher in 2005, teaching for 14 years. Since 2019, I have received certifications in Elementary Education (K-6) and Social Sciences (6-12). Recently, I have gained experience as an elementary interventionist, specializing in working with students with Individualized Educational Plans (IEPs).
