Bio
Hi, my name is Maria Banta and I've been in education for the past 28 years. I love working with elementary aged students and helping them learn. I have my Masters Degree in Elementary Education and my Ed.S. in leadership. My mission as an educator is "Reaching Every Child Every Day". I believe that students need to be recognized or seen for who they are, whether it be for academic success, personal achievements, or realizing they just need to be comforted. My teaching style is fair, firm, and fun. I believe every child can learn. The pace of progress looks differently for all children but I wholeheartedly believe everyone can learn. On a personal note: I'm married with two amazing children. In my free time I play tennis, pickle ball, and golf. I have two doggies that keep me busy too.

My expertise is elementary education. I've taught grades 2nd - 5th and was a elementary school administrator for seven of my 28 years in a brick and mortar school. I've worked with all types of learners: IEP's, 504's, ELL students, GT students, kids with autism, developmental delays particularly in reading and math. I've also had experience with teaching online students. I was an English tutor for VIPkid. I worked with students from China and taught lessons supporting their English language journey. I feel confident I can support your child with their needs and learning style.
