Bio
Hello! I’m Marion, a dedicated reading specialist and K–12 educator who helps students build confidence, independence, and genuine joy in learning. My teaching philosophy centers on meeting learners where they are, using evidence-based literacy practices to create supportive, structured, and engaging instruction that sticks. Throughout my career, I’ve served as a primary-grade reading specialist, instructional leader, and administrator, designing interventions, coaching teachers, and supporting schoolwide academic growth. I hold advanced training in reading instruction, and students know me as calm, encouraging, and patient—someone who brings clarity, warmth, and steady guidance to every session.
Teacher Specialization
I specialize in helping elementary students strengthen their reading skills through proven, research-based methods. I have a Bachelor of Science in Education and a Master of Education in Administration. I've been in education for 9 years teaching 2nd to 5th grade students in reading, math, science, and social studies for 5 years, teaching virtually for 1 year, and in administration for 4 years. Additionally, I've supported small group instruction for kindergarten to 5th grade students. I use clear, step-by-step instruction in areas like phonemic awareness, phonics, decoding, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension—always making sure each skill builds on the last. I’m skilled at finding exactly where a child may be struggling and creating lessons that match their needs, helping them grow at a comfortable and steady pace. My goal is to make reading feel manageable and encouraging, giving every child the tools and confidence they need to become a successful reader.
