Bio

Hi, I'm Marissa Smith! I’m a licensed educator in a small town in Eastern Oregon, passionate about helping students succeed. With a Bachelor’s in Psychology and a Master’s in Teaching Special Education K-12, I provide individualized support that meets each student’s unique strengths and challenges. For the past two years, I’ve taught special education for grades 7–12, focusing on core subjects like math and ELA for students on a modified diploma track, while also supporting students on a regular diploma track with general education coursework such as science, math, English, health, and history. In the past, I’ve worked as a paraprofessional supporting K–12 students and served as a private summer tutor for both elementary and middle school aged students. My teaching is grounded in patience, empathy, and a deep commitment to helping students grow. I believe every student deserves to feel seen, supported, and empowered.

Teacher Specialization

I specialize in individualizing learning opportunities to suite the needs of every learner. I design and implement specially designed instruction in all subject areas at the students level and pace depending on their specific needs. My teaching is rooted in meeting students where they are and supporting them to reach their full potentials.
