Bio
My name is Marlene, and I live in California with my husband, our two children, and our two dogs. I believe that meaningful progress starts with a positive, trusting relationship, so I take time to truly connect with each student and understand their unique needs. I create a supportive and inclusive environment where students feel comfortable, valued, and encouraged to take risks, ask questions, and grow into confident, independent learners. My goal is to break down difficult concepts into clear manageable steps that is tailored to your child's unique needs. I’m deeply committed to supporting each student’s growth—both academically and beyond—by building confidence, independence, and a positive mindset alongside strong reading and math skills.
Teacher Specialization
I have 16 years of teaching experience and have worked with students across grades TK–8. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Child and Adolescent Development, a Master’s degree in Educational Technology, a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential, and I am trained in the Science of Reading which allows me to support a wide range of learning needs with effective, research-based strategies.
