Bio
Welcome! Teaching is my passion. I have been teaching part-time since 2003. After earning my Master's Degree, I started teaching as a substitute teacher in elementary classrooms in different districts. I have experience working with children with varying academic skills in General and Special Ed. For the past 16 years, I have taught students online of all ages and ability levels, including students with mild, moderate, and severe learning differences. The majority of my teaching experience has been with elementary age children. I have experience working in-person and online with both native English and students who are learning English as a second language. I have a warm, engaging, and encouraging teaching style. I take pride in being organized and helpful to students. Sometimes, students have told me that they are surprised the class is already over and that they wish they could stay longer! I sincerely look forward to helping your student(s).

*I have 22 years of part-time teaching experience in classrooms as a substitute teacher and/or tutor including 16 years 100% online as the lead teacher of 1 student or small groups. *I am experienced and comfortable teaching individual students, small groups, and whole classes. *I have earned a Washington State Teaching Certificate (K-8th Grades, General Ed. and K-12th Grades, Special Ed.) *I have earned a Master's degree in Elementary Education *I have earned a TESOL certificate (ESL) *I have earned a B.A. in Psychology *I am a published children's author. *I have completed Science of Reading courses.
