Bio
Greetings! I am Mary LaDue. Most of my teaching experience has been K-6th, both in person and virtually. My philosophy of education is every person can learn, and has amazing potential, but the pathway to reach that potential is as unique as the person. I strive to listen to my learners and catch glimpses of who they are as a person, paying attention to interest, hopes, and dreams. As a teacher my goal is to create an environment where mistakes are opportunities to learn something new. It is okay to not know everything, but we are on this journey together to learn as much as we can and be our best.
Teacher Specialization
I have been teaching for over 12 years. My Professional Teaching Certificate is for K-8, and I am endorsed in Elementary Education. My first seven years of teaching was in person, as a kindergarten teacher. I also, was a reading interventionalist for a year. I transitioned to teaching virtually and enjoyed teaching first grade for two and a half years. For the past two years I have been working as a tutor for grades K-six. It has been my privilege to work with student with autism and ADHD, English Language Learners as, well as student from across the country and those who recently chose the USA for their home. I like to use sign language when I teach phonics especially with younger students and incorporate games and drawing to practice concepts.
