Bio
Hello! I am Teacher Mary. I am married with two adult children, two grandchildren, and a dog. In my leisure time I enjoy sewing and doing DIY projects. My mission is to help students develop not only strong mathematical skills but also the confidence, curiosity, and problem-solving abilities that will serve them throughout their life. I encourage students to become independent thinkers who can communicate their mathematical reasoning clearly and confidently. My goal is to foster a growth mindset within my students by emphasizing effort, perseverance, and continuous improvement. Every student learns differently, therefore I use a variety of instructional strategies to meet their diverse needs, such as differentiated instruction, visual models, and formative assessments. My Master's degree in Social Work strengthens my ability to understand the academic, social, and emotional needs of diverse learners and I am so excited for this opportunity to help you achieve your academic goals.
Teacher Specialization
I am a certified Master Math teacher with 18 years experience of classroom teaching in the public education system. I specialize in elementary and middle school math. I have mostly taught middle school math grades 7th and 8th, but also have experience teaching elementary level, Pre-Algebra, and Algebra I. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems and a Master's Degree in Social Work and I now look forward to helping support students all over the country with K12 Tutoring!
