Bio
Hello, my name is Megan! I love to read, cook, bake, and take walks outdoors. I choose to become a tutor because I love teaching and working with students one-on-one and in small group settings. I am motivated to help students meet their goals in learning. I believe that all students learn differently, and it is important to teach students with strategies that will help them learn best. I will provide feedback that is clear and constructive. I believe that feedback should be dialogue, rather than one-sided statements. I believe in student centered and goal-oriented learning. I have goals to empower students to become motivated learners. I want to encourage students to think critically and be creative with their learning. I believe in open communication when tutoring, and creating a safe place for students to make mistakes and ask questions. I will create a supportive and inclusive environment for students by getting to know them personally, learning their interests and learning styles!
Teacher Specialization
I have a Bachelors Degree in Childhood Education and have 5 years of experience teaching in elementary school classrooms. I have also tutored students both one-on-one, and in small group settings. I have worked in Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th grade. I teach subjects such as math, reading, writing, science and social studies. I like to make learning fun and engaging!
