Bio

Hello, my name is Megan! I am eager to work and apply student-centered learning strategies on this tutoring platform. I had the opportunity to gain teaching experience from four schools in Texas and California. I found myself learning from and adapting to the colorful personalities of each student. Each experience has taught me the skills necessary to make a classroom flow while keeping students engaged in their academic journey. My goal has always been to empower students by building their sense of self-efficacy through purposeful activities and genuine praise. I love seeing students' curiosity and confidence, and it is my job to cultivate it. Every session, I hold high expectations for both myself and my students, that we will always use the most of our time!

Teacher Specialization

I recently graduated from Baylor University with a Bachelors or Science in Elementary Education. I have a Texas Educator Certificate for teaching core subjects in grades EC-6. In 1-1 and small group settings, I provided individual support to K-2 students who struggled with language arts and math. With interactive and engaging activities, students became motivated to improve, gained independence, and discovered how their learning connected to outside the classroom. I have also led level A-J guided reading small groups, fostering growth in fluency and comprehension.
