Bio
Hello. My name is Meghan Chavana. My educational philosophy is to foster learning of all students, helping them to think critically, be willing to take risks and build confidence. My goals for tutoring are to help lead students to success by helping to strengthen and build upon skills in which they need to be successful. I build relationships with students getting to know them, showing them that I am interested in what they have to say and by motivating and encouraging them.
Teacher Specialization
I have been teaching for 24 years. Throughout my teaching, I have spent 3 years teaching 2nd grade, 11 years teaching 3rd grade, 2 years as them MTSS (intervention)/grade level coach for grades 3-4 and 1 year teaching 4th grade at brick and mortar schools. I have spent the past 6 years teaching (full-time) virtually. I taught 1st grade for 3 years, was a 5th grade resource teacher and have taught 4th grade for 2 years (currently). I have a Bachelor's degree from Jacksonville State University in Education and a Master's degree from the University of Central Florida in Teacher Leadership- MTSS track. I have tutored before and after school on and off throughout my teaching career. Most currently, I have tutored both online and virtually. I have tutored grades K-6th.
