Bio
I enjoy engaging students through various modes of learning. By making learning enjoyable with multi-sensory instruction, I aim to make it both memorable and lasting. My goal as a tutor is to help bring students from the point of learning to knowing. Building confidence in both themselves as humans and learners. As a teacher both in the classroom and through tutoring I value the relationships that I build with my students individually and as a group. I recognize the challenges we all face—young and old alike—when trying to grasp new concepts, and I strive to meet each student where they are in order to help them grow in all areas. Teaching is one of the most rewarding jobs for me. I love witnessing the moment when a student understands or finally learns something we've been working on; we refer to this as the "light bulb moment."
Teacher Specialization
I have been teaching for 20 years in both the state of New York and now Georgita. I have taught all grade levels from prek-5 as a regular education teacher and special education teacher. I teach all subject areas including reading, writing, math, science, and social studies. I have had about 2 years experience in virtual education as was necessary during the COVID shut down. I hold a Bachelors of Science of Education in Elementary Education and a Masters in Special Education. Both from the State University of New York Cortland.
