Bio
Hello! My name is Mikayla Teets! I have a B.A. in Elementary Education and am currently a graduate student for Speech-Language Pathology. My teaching personailty is bubbly and enthusiastic. I believe that a teacher needs to be excited about the material to engage a child's interest and motivate them to learn! My main tutoring goal for students is to help grow their confidence and independence in their learning journey. I build relationships with students by integrating their interests and making time for get-to-know-you activities during lessons.
Teacher Specialization
I have taught in-person and online piano lessons for 10 years. My student teaching experience was teaching 4th grade, and then I was a reading an math interventionist for 2 years for diverse learners. Previously, I was a K-6 online literacy tutor for children in small groups. Previously, I was a K-6 online literacy tutor for children in small groups for 4 years. 2 of those I was a tutor lead, where I would train new tutors as well as tutor myself.
