Hi! I’m Mrs. Melton, a passionate and experienced tutor dedicated to helping students not only understand their subjects but also enjoy the learning process. With a background in teaching and social work, I’ve worked with students of all ages and learning styles, consistently helping them build confidence, reach their goals, and discover their potential. My teaching philosophy is simple: every student can succeed with the right guidance, encouragement, and strategies tailored to their unique way of learning. I believe in creating a positive and engaging learning environment where mistakes are seen as stepping stones, curiosity is welcomed, and growth is celebrated. I focus on building deep understanding, critical thinking, and long-term academic skills—not just quick fixes. What sets me apart is my supportive and outgoing personality. I hold a Bachelors degree in Social Work with a Certificate in Early Childhood Education. I have a total of 5 years of experience in education and 4 of those years have been in virtual education. I have taught Kindergarten, First and Second grades teaching ELA, Math, Science and Social Studies content areas. I specialize in all subjects in the Elementary grade levels K-5, with a focus on breaking down complex concepts into clear, manageable steps that match each student’s learning style. My approach combines subject mastery with proven strategies to boost comprehension, retention, and problem-solving skills. I work especially well with students who may feel overwhelmed or under-confident, using patience, encouragement, and tailored techniques to turn frustration into progress.
