Bio
I believe students learn best when instruction is clear, supportive, and responsive to their individual needs. I break concepts into manageable steps and use examples, discussion, and guided practice to support different learning styles. I view evaluation as a tool for growth, using questions and practice to check understanding and provide meaningful feedback. My goal as a tutor is to build confidence, strengthen foundational skills, and help students develop strategies that lead to greater independence. I strive to build positive, respectful relationships so students feel comfortable asking questions and engaging in the learning process. As a second-career teacher, I value helping students grow in both skill and confidence while developing a lifelong love of learning. Outside of teaching, I enjoy sewing, spending time with my family, and relaxing with my four French bulldogs.
Teacher Specialization
My teaching specialization is elementary education with experience supporting students in reading, writing, and math. I focus on helping learners build strong foundational skills, confidence, and problem-solving strategies through clear instruction, patience, and encouragement. I have been in education for five years: subbing, tutoring and teaching. I am licensed to teach K-8th Grade, though the bulk of my experience is in 2nd, 3rd and 4th grades. I am comfortable and confident with the full span of grade levels. My strengths are math and reading, but I’m happy to help learners in other subjects. For the past year, I have gained experience in both tutoring and teaching in a virtual setting. From Florida State University I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science with a double minor in Math and Physics. Western Governors University is where I earned my Master’s in Elementary Education, 100% online.
