ABOUT ME: My name is Nate Fernandes. I'm 42 years old and I've been teaching/tutoring for over 10 years. I'm a Navy Veteran with the Presidential Ceremonial Honor Guard. I'm interested in programming, writing and teaching. I have a very positive attitude and a good sense of humor, so I look forward to incorporating these into your student's lessons, and really look forward to helping them and watching them grow. TEACHING PHILOSOPHY: To me, the classroom needs to be a ‘sacred ground’ where students feel equally important to not only each other but as human beings as a whole. In my experience, give someone importance, give them a reason or a purpose and they will step up beyond their own expectations.

EDUCATION: I recieved my diploma from St.Cloud High School in 2002. I recieved my B.A Degree from Lewis-Clark State College in 2017-18. DEGREE: I am currently a Washington state certified Secondary Education:English Language Arts (ELA) teacher and have tutored students for about 8 years. I also have extensive training and experience tutoring from 6-12 grade and college level students in numerous subjects, including philosophy, psychology, natural science and, of course, English. I also have roughly 3 years of experience with physically/mentally disabled students, including in-home care of those individuals once they age out of specific programs.
