Bio
Hello! My name is Nicole. I love teaching in schools, but now that I have two little kids, I do it from home. I love teaching too much to stop! I also LOVE to read and will happily discuss with students what fun books they are reading. As a teacher, I believe everyone learns differently. My goal is to meet each student where they're at, and provide support where it is needed. I love helping students enjoy learning and discovering what they are capable of! I help students practice until they are confident with the concept! I want them to leave my tutoring sessions feeling better about applying what they've learned on their own. A student's success is a cause for celebration! No matter what they practice with me, I will let them know when I see improvement. Whether it's writing a narrative, multiplying fractions, or watching a plant grow, learning is discovering!
Teacher Specialization
I have a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education, and I am certified to teach grades K-6. I taught 5th grade for two and a half years, but I also have experience teaching a variety of subjects across all elementary ages, including middle school curriculum. I especially love designing lessons for K-8 reading, writing, and math. I enjoy instructing in social studies and science curriculum for these ages as well. I have experience teaching reading intervention to small groups, and providing additional support to students in all core content areas.
