Bio
I help K-12 students build confidence and strengthen their reading, writing, organization, and study skills. Many students come to tutoring feeling stuck or unsure of themselves, and it is rewarding to watch their confidence grow as their skills improve. I believe students learn best when they see a skill modeled, practice it with guidance, and then apply it independently. I break complex tasks into manageable steps so students can experience progress and develop lasting skills. My goal is to help students become confident, independent learners who can approach their schoolwork with greater success. I lived and taught in South America for 10 years and speak conversational Spanish, which can be helpful for Spanish-speaking students learning English. I was also invited to Japan as a Fulbright Memorial Fund participant to experience Japanese culture and education.
Teacher Specialization
With 24 years of teaching experience in both online and in-person, I specialize in reading, writing, language arts, study skills, executive functioning and organization. I earned a BA in English and a MA of Education in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in online education. I have over ten years of online teaching experience.
