Bio
Hello, My name is Nicolette Mitchell. I believe students learn best by repetition and hands on learning. They also learn best when the learning is fun to them and when they feel safe. I am committed to helping my students grow during the time we are together. Building positive and meaningful relationships with my students has always been a big part of why I wanted to be a teacher. When the students and you have a great relationship, everything else will follow! I enjoy reading thriller novels, doing diamond art and going for walks when it is nice out! I have worked with students who were in Burma while being here in the United states, I tutored them over Zoom! I became a tutor because I believe all students have the ability to learn!I always like to bring a positive attitude to whatever I do and I always try my best to make learning hands on and fun!
Teacher Specialization
I have been a teacher for 5 years now. I began teaching a Universal Preschool class for a catholic school. Then I taught 3rd grade for one year. I then taught Kindergarten for 3 years. This year I switched and became an English as a New Language teacher to students in Kindergarten, First and Second grade. I got my Bachelors of Science degree in Early childhood and Childhood Education from Buffalo State college in 2018. Then in 2021 I went back to school and got a dual Masters. My focus was Curriculum and Instruction and I got an advanced degree in TESOL. I graduated in 2023.
