Bio
Hello! My name is Mr. Loar, and I currently teach 6th grade math in Maryland public schools. My specialty is Mathematics, particularly in grades 5 - 7, but I am eager to help out students in ELA, Social Studies and Science. I am passionate about teaching problem solving and how learning content can apply to the everyday lives of students. I love using fun and engaging activities that help students' better understand the foundations of math.
Teacher Specialization
I earned a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary/Middle Education in 2022. I am currently working on a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership. I have taught in public school for 4 years; 1 year teaching 6th and 7th grade math and 3 years of just 6th grade. I have worked with all skill levels from advanced to below basic. I am also licensed for any subject grades 1 - 6. I am currently working to obtain my National Board Certification as a Middle Childhood Generalist. I am very familiar with teaching of Common Core Standards but could quickly learn other standards as well.
