Hi- I'm Ms Paula! If you are ready to become a stronger reader or mathematician then let's get started! I've been teaching Elementary students for over 30 years and love to create confident and life-long learners who need a little help along the way. I focus on the gradual release model where I model a skill, then we try the skill together, then YOU try it. This will help you build confidence and helps me uncover your strengths, and how you learn. I believe in using creative, engaging strategies and activities that you can apply to your learning. Everyone of us is unique and learns in a different way. When we take ownership of our learning and efforts and realize that it's okay to make mistakes, we become motivated, confident and successful learners- that is my goal for you!
Teacher Specialization
I have spent the last 4 years as a virtual instructor and this is my first year with K12 Tutoring. I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education (1-6), am Reading Endorsed, Gifted Endorsed and ESOL endorsed. I am a highly effective educator and have taught all subjects in grades 2, 3, 4 & 5, and ELA in grade 6. My experience with Gifted Math is in grades 1-4, and the majority of my teaching career and passion is teaching grade 3 ELA& Math, where I enjoyed working with students in preparing them for success meeting and exceeding the required expectations. I have experience working with students with 504, IEP, and EP plans, as well as students with twice exceptionalities.
