Bio

Hi, I’m Rachel! With years of experience teaching, tutoring, and working with hundreds of students, I believe every child has the potential to become a confident and successful learner through practice and perseverance. I specialize in fostering a growth mindset and a genuine love for learning by getting to know each student personally and tailoring instruction to meet their unique needs. My approach combines direct, explicit instruction to target learning gaps with hands-on practice that builds mastery and confidence. I continuously assess understanding and revisit concepts as needed to ensure lasting progress. Most importantly, I empower students to take ownership of their learning, so they grow into capable, independent thinkers. If you're looking for a tutor who builds confidence and inspires curiosity, I’d love to work with your child.

Teacher Specialization

I’ve been teaching for more than 17 years in a variety of school settings, working with students and families from diverse cultural and educational backgrounds. My experience spans Pre-K through 6th grade, and throughout my career, I’ve worked as a classroom teacher, special education teacher, and reading specialist. I hold a Master’s degree in Literacy and specialize in literacy development, mathematical fluency, and differentiated instruction. I believe that helping children build resilience and a love for learning are the greatest gifts we can give them—qualities that foster confidence, curiosity, and lifelong success.
