Bio
As a semi-retired educator in my 70s, I bring a deep passion for mathematics and a strong commitment to student success. I teach with patience, clarity, and genuine enthusiasm. My sessions are well organized and focused on building deep understanding and confidence. I strive to create a supportive environment that inspires curiosity and lasting mathematical growth. Above all, I never make judgement over a student's learning pace.
Teacher Specialization
With over 16 years of teaching experience, I have taught at both HS and college levels, including Univ. of Dallas, Univ. of North Texas, and Dallas and Tarrant Junior Colleges. I hold MS's in Math and Accounting. I hold TX state certification in HS math and natural sciences. I currently tutor remotely in Varsity Tutors and Wyzant, beside volunteer tutoring Calculus at Upchieve and Learn-to-Be. I demonstrate particular strength in Trig, Pre-Calc and Calculus. My expertise includes AP Calculus AB and BC, where I teach with clarity and confidence. I emphasize conceptual understanding, logical reasoning, and precise math communication. I also focus on strengthening algebraic foundations, problem-solving skills, and mathematical maturity — the tools for success in STEM fields. Whether guiding struggling students or challenging advanced learners, I adapt my instruction to meet diverse learning styles in both in-person and online settings.
