Bio
Hi my name is Mrs. Ridenour. My hope through tutoring is that I can help students grow in the subjects that they have difficulty in. My teaching philosophy is that anyone can learn anything if they put in the time and effort. I am committed to assisting young minds into achieving their goals. I believe that genuine connection with students is important because knowing that I care about them shows that we both have an investment into our time together during tutoring.
Teacher Specialization
I am currently a 6th grade science teacher who is certified to teach K-6 with the addition of K-12 Mathematics. I have a Masters Degree in Elementary Education (K-6). I also hold certifications in Special education K to 12 and in Secondary Mathematics 6 to 12. I have taught a lot of tutoring both online and in person. There are a variety of ways to not only show students work but also have them show their work. Finding what format suits the students best is important for them feeling comfortable to show their thinking and answers. I have used white boards, Canva, Lumio, and many other platforms to accomplish this.
