Bio
Hello! I'm Mrs. Chandler and I look forward to working with you. One of the best parts about tutoring online is working with students from all different areas. I currently live in Kansas City, Missouri, but have moved several times and love meeting new people and finding out about their culture. I enjoy getting to know students and their personal stories. Learning about a student's interests helps me to make the lessons more relatable, enjoyable, and memorable. When a student has that "lightbulb" moment, I am just as excited as they are! I love reading and math, and sharing how a topic can be broken down into bite-size pieces to be understood better. In my free time I enjoy traveling, reading, and acrylic painting.
Teacher Specialization
I have 26 years experience teaching in public schools grades 3-6, and two years experience as a principal. I have worked in both rural and large metropolitan districts. The past few years I have been tutoring in person and online grades 1-10. I have a bachelor's degree in elementary education from University of Missouri-St. Louis, a master's degree in curriculum and instruction from University of Missouri-Columbia, and a master's degree in school administration from William Woods University.
