Bio
Hello! My name is Sarah Hetzel and I have spent the last several years enjoying teaching students of a variety of learning types. I earned a degree in Special Education with a concentration of Learning Disabilities from the University of South Carolina Upstate. I thoroughly enjoy working with students individually or in small groups to help them achieve their goals. I believe that it is important to empower students towards taking risks in their own learning to achieve success, and that they do their best when they feel supported. In my free time, I enjoy reading mystery books and spending time outdoors.
Teacher Specialization
For the last ten years, I have been providing special education services to students in the Upstate of South Carolina. I have a degree in Special Education : Learning Disabilities, and I have taught elementary-high school grades in the areas of reading, writing, math, and behavioral skills. While teaching in public school settings, I have also worked with students in small groups virtually to ensure that they are able to meet their goals. Additionally, I am Read2Succeed endorsed. My favorite grades and subjects to work with are ELA and Math for Elementary-Middle school. I believe strongly in building relationships with students in order to encourage growth. Students perform their best when they feel confident and supported!
