Hello, my name is Sarah! I strive to meet students where they are, to find gaps in learning, and an approach that works for each individual. I have high expectations that each student can succeed with hard work, patience, and the right approach. I am a former classroom teacher and curriculum specialist with over 20 years experience working with schools, individual students, and families. My goal is to create a non-intimidating learning environment where students are comfortable taking risks and making mistakes while also maintaining high expectations for learner success.
Teacher Specialization
I have worked in education for over 20 years. As a former curriculum specialist, I have 5+ years experience in online platforms and virtual learning. I have a degree in Arts and Education and have worked with students and classrooms in Fine Arts, Science, Math, STEM, and ELA. I have experience with a wide range of ages but my major focus has been K-8. I am most well versed in Language Arts, especially reading and reading intervention. I have trained in Orton Gillingham structured literacy programs and worked with students of varying abilities with great success.
