Hello! My name is Sarah Williams. I have four years of experience teaching first grade. I've stepped away from the classroom this year for family time and other adventures in life, but I am consistently passionate about teaching children. There's a special kind of joy that comes with meeting a child in the specific way needed to reach their goal for learning. With a love for learning, I am committed to inspiring children to find joy in discovering and strengthening skills in a positive environment. I look forward to working with your child to boost their confidence and skills by providing engaging lesson plans with differentiated instruction to meet their unique needs. I enjoy coming up with songs, hand motions, and/or images to provide a creative tool to reinforce concepts. My ultimate goal will always be to see the smile and excitement when a student feels that confidence grow while learning!
Teacher Specialization
I have a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education, K-6 with endorsements for Reading and ESOL (English Speakers of other Languages). I have taught first grade virtually for half of a school year and four years in the classroom while providing tier I, II, and III instruction for reading and math in small group settings. I have also tutored first grade students in a group of 10 after school to provide reading support. I have experience working with students with ADD/ADHD, behavioral disorders, and learning disabilities.
