Bio
I am an experienced educator with over 19 years in K-6 classrooms, specializing in ELA, particularly writing. My teaching philosophy centers on fostering curiosity, equity, and critical thinking, ensuring every student is both challenged and supported. I earned my Masters in Learning and Teaching after attaining a Bachelors in English. I bring a student-centered personality (structured yet creative, supportive yet rigorous) focused on empowering students to grow as independent learners.
Teacher Specialization
My teaching specialization is elementary English Language Arts, with a particularly emphasis on writing. I've guided students in developing strong foundational literacy skills while helping them find their own voices as writers. I design lessons that balance structure with creativity, using mentor texts, modeling, and scaffolded practice to build confidence.
