Bio
Hi there! My teaching philosophy is to focus on each students ability to learn. There is not just one way to learn. I have been tutoring for about 5 years one on one. I have also worked in various classrooms as a substitute teacher. I enjoy working as a tutor, either one on one or even a small group setting, because it allows the student and I to experiment with different learning techniques that will allow them to succeed. In my tutoring I have used a lot of visuals and hands on techniques which helps struggling learners. I feel confident as a tutor because some of my past clients have mentioned how well their students have evolved and are succeeding in learning and most actually enjoying it! As a teacher, the students were always excited to know that I would be in their class for the day and they were always well-behaved and focused. I look forward to getting to know new faces and developing a trusting, successful, exciting learning experience with them!

I am new to online tutoring. I have tutored in person for approximately 5 years and I really enjoyed it. I am looking forward to diving in to the world of online tutoring! I have also worked as a substitute teacher for over 10 years in the past. I worked with grades K-6 both subbing and tutoring. I have taught all subjects except for Physical Education, Art and Music. My most common in person tutoring sessions have been in the area of Reading. I graduated from the University of Washington with a degree in Psychology, then decided I really wanted to fulfill my teaching dream and earned a Elementary Teaching Certificate after that.
