Bio
Hi! My name is Shelby. I have been working to support students since I was one. This has taught me everyone is different, and the road from "I can't do this." to "Oh! I get it!" is just as diverse. I firmly believe with the right support and perseverance everyone can reach their goals. One of the best things about education and learning is supporting students by fostering connections between content areas and student interests to lock in learning.
Teacher Specialization
Arkansas certified educator in Kindergarten through 8th grade core subjects including English Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies. 9th grade through 12th certified in English Language Arts, Business, and Introductory Computer Science. I also have experience in tutoring high school and college level algebra and writing. I have worked heavily on vertical and cross-curricular alignment and have experience working with students in all grade levels. This bird's-eye view and experience allows me to help identify areas of need and utilize scaffolding to support each learner's individual needs.
