Bio

First off, I’m excited to be working with you. I live in the Bronx, New York. I am a mom of 2: a boy and a girl. I had the honor of teaching them at home during the pandemic. This is when I knew educating children was my calling. My educational philosophy centers on the belief that all students, regardless of ability, deserve a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment where their unique strengths are recognized and their individual needs are met. My goal as a tutor is to build confidence in students to help them realize their capabilities. I will do so by creating a supportive environment where mistakes are seen as opportunities for growth and effort is celebrated more than innate talent. I'm passionate about building confidence, fostering independence, and making learning a positive and rewarding experience. I look forward to partnering with you on this journey and helping your child reach their full potential!

Teacher Specialization

I’ve proudly served in the Department of Education in NY for the past six years. I have a Mater's Degree in Education. As a certified special educator, I work with students with and without disabilities from 1st to 6th grade. I have worked with 1st, 2nd, and 4th graders teaching reading, writing, math, social studies, and science. I have worked in an Integrated Co-Teaching (ICT) classroom where a special education teacher and a general education teacher collaborate to support a diverse group of students. Virtually Teaching: During the pandemic, I taught 32 2nd graders remotely. This was from April 2020- June 2021. I was able to keep students motivated to ensure no students fell behind academically. Extra qualifications: I have experience teaching FUNdations, Wilson Language Fundation, Phonics for Reading, Orton-Gillingham, and SPIRE. These are all structured literacy approaches designed to help individuals, particularly those with dyslexia, learn to read, write, and spell.
