Hello! I am Ms. Brooks, and I am in my 20th year of education. Outside the classroom, I love arts, crafts, and tending to my vibrant backyard garden! Though I retired from public schools in 2021, my deep love for teaching led me to online tutoring. I am passionate about educational equity, ensuring every unique student gets exactly what they need to thrive. To achieve this, I use real-time formative assessments—like thumbs up/down, questioning, and quick check-ins—to provide immediate feedback and guide learning transfer. My goal is to foster confident learners, critical thinking, and creative problem-solving. Because rapport is the life's blood of learning, I start every session with a smile, always eager to connect over my students' own hobbies and interests. We are truly in this together! I hold a Level 5 Georgia teaching certificate in secondary English (6–12), middle grades ELA (4–8), a K–12 Reading Specialist certificate, an Instructional Technology Specialist certificate, and a Gifted Endorsement in all fields. Having taught middle school ELA and Reading for most of my classroom career, I have also spent nearly three years delivering high-impact online tutoring and targeted virtual interventions that rapidly accelerate K–12 student growth in Reading, ELA, writing, and literature. My specialization lies at the intersection of literacy development and advanced digital pedagogy, using data-driven platforms for intensive, individualized instruction.
