Bio
My name is Sophia Reichard and I am from Phoenix, Arizona where I am also currently located. I have a wonderful husband and we just welcomed our first baby boy in November. I enjoy spending time with my family, drinking and making coffee, and playing board games! I believe that all students deserve to learn in a way that is beneficial and meaningful for them. As a tutor I meet students where they are at and scaffold instruction to build off of their foundation. Through tutoring, I hope to foster students' critical thinking skills as well as each student's creativity and individuality. My goal is to promote student growth as well as academic excellence. I prioritize building positive, meaningful relationships with my students by getting to know their individual strengths, goals, and learning styles. I strive to create a supportive and inclusive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and growing with confidence.
Teacher Specialization
I started out my teaching career in 5th grade science, and moved to 6th grade science for the last two years. This last year I have also taught tier three math interventions with 6th grade students. I have also done intern hours in third grade, fifth grade, seventh grade, and eighth grade. I have a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and am highly qualified in Middle Grades Science.
