Bio
Hello! My name is Soundra Dodds. I have always wanted to be a teacher. Teaching is something I am very passionate about because I love helping, guiding, and leading others to success. My goals as a tutor are to help improve all studnets academic and nonacademic skills through my positivity, focus, and determination. While teaching, I will guide students in the right direction and help them improve through multiple means of practice. I believe that all students can achieve and succeed in their goals with the support of caring adults who believe in them. I hope to be that adult for all my students!
Teacher Specialization
I graduated from Simpson College in 2021 with a degree in elementary education and endorsements in reading, math, early childhood, and SPED. I also received awards and honors for outstanding senior in elementary education. I later went on to earn my Master's degree in culturally responsive teaching and an ESL endorsement from Drake University in 2025. I have been a teacher for five years now and have spent most of my time teaching 2nd and 3rd grade in a Title I school in Des Moines, Iowa. At this school, I have taught a variety of students of all different abilities, academically, behaviorally, and emotionally. I have loved every minute of it! This year will be my first year tutoring for k12 tutoring, and I am so excited! I mostly specialize in early childhood education (birth-3rd grade) as I have the most knowledge and experience teaching all subject areas for those grades!
