Bio
Hello and welcome! I am excited to be working with you as we learn from each other during our tutoring sessions! My name is Tami and I have been a teacher for 22 years! I became a teacher to help students grow, uncover ideas, and see their excitement in everything they want to learn. My teaching approach is based on creating a learning environment where students can ask questions and critically think through a supportive learning environment and have fun throughout the process! I love to create a fun, positive space for learning that allows the opportunity for students grow in the place they are! Making mistakes is ok! It's how we learn! Students will do most of the talking while I guide our discussion. Sessions will focus on collaboration, explaining thinking, and building relationships.
Teacher Specialization
I am a certified teacher in Indiana with a Bachelors degree in elementary education, a Masters degree in elementary education with concentration in gifted education, and an associates degree in educational psychology with concentration in gifted education. I am certified in the science of reading and critical thinking. For 22 years I have enjoyed building relationships with my students and hearing all that they have to offer as a learner and person.
