Bio
My name is Tammy Pennington and I live on Lay Lake in Alabama. I am married with 3 grown boys and 6 grandchildren. I am a retired educator and love reading, fishing and am a volunteer firefighter. I believe all students can learn, but sometimes need to see things a different way. I have wealth of experience, especially in reading in various grade levels. My tutoring goal is to meet your students where they are and with what they need. I hope to build relationships with students through open communication, engaging sessions and learning their interests.
Teacher Specialization
I am a retired educator who taught 28 years in brick and mortar with Talladega County School System, where I was a reading coach 13 of those years. Alabama Virtual Academy has been my teaching home for 5 years now. I have taught grades K-8 in various capacities--many times with remediation and am also a National Board Certified teacher.
