Bio
Hi there! I'm Ms. Alonso, and I absolutely love what I do. As a 3rd-grade teacher in Miami and the recent recipient of the Rookie Teacher of the Year award, I bring both energy and expertise to every tutoring session. I specialize in reading and am passionate about making literacy accessible and fun for everyone. My philosophy is that through kindness and patience, every student can grow and succeed. I am very organized and love using diverse teaching styles because I know that no two learners are the same. In my free time, I love to travel, read, and hang out with my pups. I can’t wait to help your child crush their reading goals!
Teacher Specialization
I can help struggling readers break down tricky words. Being a 3rd grade teacher I focus a lot on comprehension, I move beyond the text to help students analyze and summarize. I love doing novel studies and I will algin them with the standards we are working on! Officially, I have been teaching for two years now, before I finished my teaching degree I was an afterschool teacher, a summer camp manger, and a substitute. I have endorsements in English Language Learners (ESOL), Reading, and Pre-K special needs. I can teach Pre-K to 3rd grade.
