Bio
Hello, I’m an experienced educator and intervention specialist who is passionate about helping students build skills, confidence, and success. I help students become confident, capable readers and learners—especially those with dyslexia or who need explicit, structured support. My tutoring is warm and encouraging while also direct and efficient: we build skills step-by-step, track progress, and celebrate real wins. I use evidence-based, multi-sensory approaches and carefully chosen resources (including Smarter Intervention, the Institute for Multisensory Instruction, the Iowa Reading Research Center, and the Florida Center for Reading Research/UFLI). Whether your child needs reading intervention, academic catch-up, or steady accountability, I’ll meet them where they are and help them move forward with confidence.
Teacher Specialization
With 15 years of elementary teaching experience, I have had the privilege of supporting students in a wide variety of learning environments, including 10 years in dual-language settings and 5 years teaching overseas. My classroom experience includes both K–5 general education and K–5 special education, giving me a strong foundation in meeting diverse learning needs with patience, flexibility, and care. During the COVID lockdowns, I successfully transitioned to online instruction, and my work with VIPKid further strengthened my ability to build meaningful connections with students in virtual settings. In addition to my teaching background, I bring an additional 15 years of K–12 educational consulting experience focused on special education, English learners, early literacy, multi-tiered systems of support, and school improvement. I hold an MSE from Drake University and a BA from Central College, and I am passionate about helping each child feel supported, capable, and successful.
