Hi, I’m Tonya! I believe learning shouldn't feel like a chore, it should be an 'aha!' moment wrapped in good energy. My philosophy is simple: meet students where they are, make complex concepts click, and never shy away from a little creativity. If that means breaking down cellular respiration with an upbeat rhyming chant, custom mnemonic beat, or a sharp visual map, we’re doing it! My teaching personality is high-energy, encouraging, structured, and authentically quirky. Whether you’re tackling tough biology mechanisms, demystifying general science, or building foundational study habits that actually stick, I’m here to turn confusion into complete confidence. Teacher Specialization
I have a comprehensive nineteen-year background in education, spanning elementary, middle, and high school levels with a special education endorsement. My elementary experience includes teaching functional skills for second through fourth grades. In middle school, you co-taught foundational subjects including English, social studies, math, and science. At the high school level, you specialized in science and mathematics, teaching or co-teaching biology, chemistry, geometry, and algebra one. I hold a B.S. in Biology alongside dual Master’s degrees in Secondary Science Education and Learning & Technology.
